Brunel University London

Course Introduction

Brunel is located at the heart of the UK film and TV, so you'll be only a short distance from major productions. Brunel is ten minutes from Pinewood, the biggest film studio in Europe, and the number of high'profile film and TV companies that are located there, offering a range of opportunities for work placements and visits, complementing the sandwich'course offering in which students can take a yearlong placement as part of their course. You will be taught by staff who work on a range of contemporary media topics, with specialisms in social media, interactive video, and representations of body image, amongst others. Staff work with a number of external companies and institutions in order to ensure that teaching is up to date and relevant, including the BBC, SKY and the British Film Institute. In addition, this year Brunel is hosting a Filmmaker in Residence, a professional filmmaker who works with us for a year to produce a new film with Communication and Media students. This extracurricular project is a fantastic way to experience working on a professional production and add an extra credit to your CV.
