Conservatoire for Dance and Drama

Course Introduction

The course offers professional'level experience for graduates from vocational dance training programmes through various programme pathways. The postgraduate company pathway (EDge) operates as a touring dance company, students have the opportunity to take on dancer/choreographer roles whilst working with professional choreographers and the artistic director. The postgraduate apprenticeship pathway gives students the opportunity to develop their skills as performers through placements within a professional dance company. The choreography pathway offers students the opportunity to develop their choreographic practice, developing the skills they will need to make and promote their work as independent dance artists. The advanced dance studies pathway provides students with a further year of intensive technical training and opportunities to develop their skills in the areas of performance, choreography and teaching.

Course Modules

Modules include: Performance module; practice'led module; research lab; dissertation.

Course Additional Entry

1st or upper 2nd Class Honours degree in dance, or BEd Honours with major dance component; individual applications are considered from candidates who have a high level of professional experience; entry is subject to audition and interview; PgDip required for admission to Master's stage.
