Course Introduction

This programme provides students with a broad understanding of the theories and practices of dance movement psychotherapy necessary for safe and effective clinical work and enables them to practise as a dance movement psychotherapist; learning is underpinned by the principles and practices of psycho dynamic psychotherapy practised within the social; political and multicultural context of mental health care and informed by contemporary dance practice.

Course Additional Entry

1st degree of at least 2nd Class standard in a relevant discipline; graduates in an unrelated field may be considered subject to qualifying examination; at least 2 years' grounding in at least 1 form of dance practice; work experience in health, social or educational services is desirable, as is experience in personal therapy.
