In your first year you will study an Introduction to Management Enquiry module to help you adapt to university study through active learning sessions on topics such as working in groups, report writing and time management. The Business School offers one of the best final year project learning processes to help you to create high quality project work, often from work placement experiences. Good research skills are valued by employers and you will draw on these skills in work and life. If you take a sandwich course you will go on a paid work placement of 44 weeks at the end of your second year. Our placement team will help you find a post that develops your interests and builds on what you have learned. In addition to our BSc (Hons) Business and Management (Marketing) we also offer specialist pathways in the following areas giving you the chance to tailor your studies: BSc (Hons) Business and Management (Accounting), BSc (Hons) Business and Management or BSc (Hons) International Business.

Course Modules

Level 1 Core: Introduction to management enquiry; organisational behaviour and analysis; managing information with technology; introduction to accounting; principles and practices of marketing; international business environment. Level 2 Core: Marketing research; marketing communications; marketing channels and logistics; critical perspectives in management; consumer behaviour; database and customer relationship marketing. Level 3: Work Placement (for thick'sandwich mode of study) Level 3 Core: Issues and controversies in marketing project; international marketing; strategic marketing, Work placement.. in context* (for those who undertake a Work placement..).
