Course Introduction

Research areas include: literary and cultural studies; English and performance studies; history; philosophy; linguistics; sociology; criminology and law; communications and the creative arts: media studies; performance; media communications; the electronic and digital arts; video; film studies; literary studies; sonic arts and visual culture; English; history; philosophy; applied linguistics; German; sociology; criminology. Law: especially family law; maritime studies; industrial labour relations; oral history projects; contemporary and political philosophy; feminism; postcolonialism; gender studies; translation and communication technologies. Course Additional Entry

A 1st degree in a relevant subject, 2.1 or above; a Master's degree is an additional advantage. Students educated in a language other than English should have an IELTS score of 6.5 or above or an equivalent rating in another language testing system. Applications must submit a 500'word outline of proposed research with their application form.
