Course Introduction

The primary objective of this programme is to equip students with the values, knowledge and skill'base they'll need to practise as a social worker; within a framework of anti'oppressive and anti'discriminatory practice, it offers a professional training for social work practice in local authority social services departments, hospitals, clinics and voluntary organisations.

Course Modules

Modules include: human growth and development; an observation of a baby or young child; assessment and intervention; interprofessional and interdisciplinary working; the values of social work; models, methods, and theories of social work; formally assessed placements.

Course Additional Entry

1st degree of at least upper 2nd Class standard/Master's degree in an appropriate subject; graduates in an unrelated field may be considered subject to qualifying examination.
