Conservatoire for Dance and Drama

Course Introduction

The range and quality of our course gives the most complete and professional preparation for entering the world of professional dance, provided by international teachers who have performed for some of the world's leading dance companies. In the first 2 years as a student you will work towards the Foundation Degree alongside optional AS and A levels. During the 3rd and final year, students join our graduate touring company Ballet Central and work towards obtaining the BA (Hons) degree. 90 per cent of the course is held in the studio and on'stage, and you will work towards the highest standards of technique and artistry.

Course Modules

The core discipline is ballet, supported by contemporary dance and the following: Choreography; contextual studies (dance research, historical context of performance, stagecraft); dalcroze eurythmics; dance studies dancer in training (nutrition, sport psychology, anatomy, injury prevention and recovery); drama; jazz dance; pilates; professional development (goal setting, audition preparation, career planning); singing; Spanish dance; study skills (reflective practice, critical analysis).
