Year 3: advanced concepts and techniques in geology; independent geological field mapping; advanced topics in sedimentology; volcanology; advanced techniques in tectonic and structural interpretation; mineral resources; advanced palaeontology; aqueous geology; planetary geology and geophysics; applied geology. Year 4: independent geoscience project; research proposal; applied sedimentology and stratigraphy; analysis of depositional environments; advanced igneous petrogenesis; seismic processing and interpretation; geodynamics and plate tectonics; interpretation of structural settings; coal geology; reservoir characterisation; terrestrial palaeoecology.
