Course Introduction

The pace of the globalisation of national economies has accelerated in recent years, and this has led to a more dynamic relationship between international business activities and economic and social development. This programme is suitable for graduates who are, or seek to be, employed in relevant government departments, non'governmental organisations, international agencies or private companies involved in, or related to, international business and economic development. It also provides a foundation for those wishing to undertake doctoral research in international business and development. We have particular research strengths in international business and strategy, the management of innovation and entrepreneurship, human resource management, corporate governance, sport management and marketing, as well as financial management and accounting.

Course Modules

You complete 8 modules (totalling 120 credits) and write a 12,000'word dissertation (worth 60 credits). You take 4 compulsory modules, and choose 1 module from a list of options and 2 module options from the range of management postgraduate modules (or from other departments, subject to approval). Full'time modules: Development policy; international business and economic development; principles of organization and management; research methods in management I.

Course Additional Entry

Normally at least a 2nd'Class Honours degree in any subject area from a UK university or a non'UK equivalent; other qualifications will be considered. A professional or other qualification obtained by written examinations approved by the college. Relevant experience, supporting statements and references may be taken into consideration, especially in the case of non'standard applications. If English is not your first language or you have not previously studied in English, our usual requirement is the equivalent of an International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic Test) score of 6.5, with not less than 6.0 in each of the sub'tests.
