Course Introduction

This course studies the information communication chain in its entirety, from authorship, through publication and dissemination, organisation, indexing and retrieval to use. The course combines knowledge of subject resources with technological solutions for information storage, access and retrieval; elective modules include web applications and data visualisation.

Course Modules

Modules include: Library and information science foundation; information resources and organisation; information management and policy; digital information technologies and architecture; research, evaluation and communication skills; information retrieval; information domains; libraries and publishing in the information society; information law and policy; independent study; web applications development; data visualisation.

Course Additional Entry

An Honours degree in any subject (minimum 2.1), or equivalent qualification, plus relevant work experience; some experience of information work is normally required.
