Course Introduction

This BSc combines a broad'based training in mathematics with highly practical courses from UCL's Department of Management Science and Innovation, which will be of direct use to those seeking a career in management. No previous knowledge of management studies is required.

Course Modules

Years 1 and 2: 6 courses each year give a thorough grounding in pure mathematics and mathematical methods, following the same courses as single'subject mathematics students. In place of applied mathematics, students take 2 courses in management studies each year (see below). Year 3: Range of options both in mathematics and management studies. Management studies courses: Year 1: Communication and behaviour in organisations; foundations of management. Year 2: Management information and control; business in a competitive environment. Year 3: 2 courses from: project management; the marketing process; law for managers; project finance; the business plan; high'tech business; new ventures business; decision and risk.
