This course provides intensive training in computer science, and is suitable for graduates of disciplines other than computing who are who are keen to acquire core computing skills or deepen their existing knowledge of computing.
Modules include: computer architecture; operating systems; introduction to C++ programming; object oriented design and programming; logic and AI programming; integrated programming laboratory; C++ programming test; AI programming test; software engineering practice and group project; individual project. Optional modules include: introduction to artificial intelligence; logic'based learning; graphics; robotics; introduction to bioinformatics; computational finance; intelligent data and probabilistic inference; databases; computer networks and distributed systems; concurrent programming; algorithms.

2.1 Honours degree in any discipline; all applicants whose 1st language is not English require: GCSE, IGCSE, GCE O'level or equivalent at grade C; or Cambridge certificate of proficiency in English (CPE) at grade C; or IELTS score of 7.0 with a score of 6.5 or better in the written and speaking section; or TOEFL paper minimum score of 610 (test of written English (TWE) of 4.5 or more); or TOEFL computer minimum score of 250 (TWE of 4.5 or more); or TOEFL internet minimum score of 100 overall, including a minimum of 24 in the written section and a minimum of 22 in the speaking section.
