Course Introduction

Students on this course examine how information systems can be used strategically by organisations, such as web'based information systems and knowledge management systems. The course focuses on the quality management process of implementing and maintaining systems, as well as focusing on the strategy, legal and regulatory implications of information systems.

Course Modules

Core modules: information systems quality management; postgraduate computing project; regulation of electronic commerce and information technology; information system strategy and management. Optional modules: data management for decision support; knowledge management strategies.

Course Additional Entry

Good honours degree, or equivalent qualification, in an appropriate subject. We also consider candidates with other relevant qualifications and individuals with a minimum of 3 years' work experience. Those without formal qualifications need to demonstrate relevant work experience and the ability to study at postgraduate level. Applicants must have competence in English language and we normally require grade C GCSE or an equivalent qualification. The most common English language requirements for international students are IELTS 6.5 (with minimum 6.0 in all 4 components) or TOEFL internet based 87 (with at least 21 in listening and writing, 22 in speaking and 23 in reading).
