Course Introduction

The course is for undergraduates who either wish to develop a business arising from an existing creative practice or to understand how to create the infrastructure and environment for new creative businesses in the fields of computing, design, fashion, media and communications, music, or theatre and performance to flourish in a variety of contexts (e.g. city, rural, regional, national).

Course Modules

4 taught courses and a further dissertation/portfolio component; all students take theories of the culture industry: work, creativity and precariousness and entrepreneurial modelling; chosen pathway determines the creative practice and entrepreneurial practices and modes of production course that students take.

Course Additional Entry

2.1 degree or equivalent in an arts or humanities subject; there may be additional entrance requirements depending on the pathway applied for; applicants must demonstrate in their written application and in interview that they have a capacity for creative and cultural entrepreneurship, and that they are able to meet the intellectual demands of the programme; where English is not 1st language minimum score of 7.0 in IELTS or equivalent is required.
