Course Introduction

The Foundation Year in Mathematics is a one'year full'time programme validated by City University London as an entry route to a number of BSc degrees in the areas of Mathematics and Actuarial Science. It is taught partly at City University London and partly at Westminster Kingsway College.The Foundation Year in Mathematics aims to provide students with a knowledge of Mathematics, Probability and Statistics, Economics, I.T. and Computing sufficient to enable them to undertake an undergraduate degree in the area of Actuarial Science.

Course Modules

All years: core modules include: actuarial science; statistics; mathematics; economics and finance; financial and investment mathematics; insurance mathematics; financial economics and probabilistic modelling in insurance; final year studies comprise subjects chosen from an extensive list of options as well as a final year project.
