Course Introduction

The programme aims to produce graduates capable of leading teams which will operate, control, design, regulate and manage the power systems and networks of the future.

Course Modules

Core modules: energy economics and power markets; power system operation and management; power electronics and FACTS; power system analysis and security; sustainable power generation; power system stability and control; project management; sustainable electrical power workshop; project and dissertation.

Course Additional Entry

A UK 1st or 2nd Class Honours degree or equivalent internationally recognised qualification in power systems; electrical or electronic engineering or a closely related discipline. Applicants with physics or mathematics subjects with a minimum 3 years relevant work experience will be considered on an individual basis. English language requirements: IELTS: 6 (min 5.5 in all areas); TOEFL Paper test: 550 (TWE 4) PBT; TOEFL Internet test: 79 IBT (reading 18, listening 17, speaking 20, writing 17); Pearson: 51 (51 in all sub'scores); BrunELT: 60 per cent (min 55 per cent in all areas).
