Course Introduction

This degree programme will familiarise you with the aesthetics, conditions of production and history of film in the United States, Latin America and the major European nations. You will be introduced to the major theoretical and critical developments in film studies, as well as studying a modern European language. This will enable you to pursue an understanding of film within the context of a wider knowledge of the culture of a specific country. You will usually spend your third year abroad, an invaluable opportunity to improve your language skills and understanding of the culture of your host country.
