This course prepares you for anything you might encounter ' whether it's writing a feature for a glossy men's magazine, podcasting an interview, or researching and crafting a story for the newsdesk of a business'to'business publication.
Core modules: ethics, rules and standards; journalism portfolio; editorial production; final project; UK media law; the magazine business. Elective modules: Choose one of the following two modules: social and digital journalism; political headlines. And one of the following specialisms: lifestyle and culture specialism; international correspondence specialism; arts and culture specialism; humanitarian reporting specialism; finance and business specialism; sports specialism; political reporting specialism; entertainment specialism; reporting the middle east specialism; security and crime specialism; investigative reporting specialism.
Course Additional Entry
At least a 2nd Class degree in any appropriate subject; consideration is given to mature entrants who can demonstrate substantial working experience; all candidates must have relevant work experience in journalism, including work on a university or college publication, work experience with a magazine or employment in periodical journalism.
