Course Introduction

BA Drawing at Camberwell College of Arts teaches drawing as an extension of thinking. Students develop their understanding of the subject in relation to wider issues in art, and are encouraged to look at how drawing is used in other disciplines such as architecture, choreography, mathematics and science.

Course Modules

Year 1: Introduction to study in higher education (fine art); defining the subject (what is drawing); critical context and reflective practice; exploring subject possibilities (drawing systems). Year 2: Options (extended contexts); presentation and exhibition; defining a context for your work; social engagement and collaborative practice. Year 3: Context (dissertation, work placement or live project); personal and professional development (portfolio, includes contextual statement, evaluative report and digital portfolio); individual programme of study.
