University of Greenwich

Course Introduction

This programme extends the knowledge, understanding and skills of professionals in schools, colleges, higher education and local education authorities who have a commitment to their continuing professional development and improved practice. It also meets the needs of participants who wish to further their study of education as an academic discipline. It is seen as a progression route to the Doctorate in Education within the School of Education. Participants build their programme by combining core courses, option courses and an educational research project, which are delivered through face'to'face teaching, self'study, and negotiated and work'based learning. In this way, it is possible to achieve an endorsed MA which focuses on a specialist area of particular professional relevance to an individual or institution. The programme currently offers endorsements in leadership and management, eLearning, literacy, special educational needs, higher education, youth and community, early years and childhood.

Course Additional Entry

An honours degree at 2.2 or above, and a professional qualification in, for example, education, health or the emergency services, or a good honours degree at 2.1 or above.
