Course Introduction

This programme is for students who have around 2 years experience of working in the mental health field. The course is designed to build upon previous knowledge and experiences and to develop and demonstrate mental health related skills and knowledge in order to contribute to enhanced professional mental health practice, research and service development. Students plan their own study pathway to meet personal, professional, academic and service needs and interests

Course Modules

For MSc/Pg Dip ' a range of optional modules according to students' interests and personal/service development needs. Compulsory: Social research methods. For MSc only ' Compulsory: Dissertation.

Course Additional Entry

Candidates should have 2 years experience in the mental health field if holding a professional qualification in nursing, social work or an allied discipline, and a good Honours degree (2.2 or above). If a non'mental health professional, 3 years experience in the mental health field and a good Honours degree. Those without formal qualifications should demonstrate their ability to study at Master's level as well as 3 years experience of working in mental health (voluntary or paid).
