Course Introduction

The emphasis of the Department's research is on what works in the prevention and treatment of substance misuse; PhD projects are available in areas related to the development of new treatment services for alcohol, smoking and drug problems in the UK and includes studies seeking to understand the genetic and biological bases of addictive behaviour, as well as policy driven projects and treatment outcome studies.

Course Additional Entry

A good Honours degree (2.1 or above) from a UK university or the overseas equivalent. Applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5.
