Course Introduction

This course provides an in'depth coverage of recruitment, termination and discrimination law with options in EU law, corporate governance and responsibility and international human rights. The programme is designed to develop skills in summarising, synthesing and presenting complex legal material and arguments. Students engage and participate in exercises and activities, working closely with teaching staff and tutors. They have opportunities to focus on issues of particular interest to them both in the taught modules and through an extended dissertation.

Course Modules

Modules include: Recruitment and termination law; discrimination and the law; dissertation; plus options chosen from; corporate governance and corporate responsibility; international human rights; international migration and the law; international organisations; international dispute resolution; issues in EU law.

Course Additional Entry

An undergraduate law degree (minimum 2.2). Graduates from related disciplines may still apply if they possess the skills to study law at a Master's level. Those without a law background would be required to undertake a course entitled 'Introduction to the Law' during induction week. In appropriate cases, we also ask for an IELTS score of 6.5. Applicants must have competence in English language and grade C GCSE or an equivalent qualification. The most common English language requirements for international students are IELTS 6.5 (with minimum 6.0 in all 4 components) or TOEFL internet based 87 (with at least 21 in listening and writing, 22 in speaking and 23 in reading).
