Brunel University London

Course Introduction

Brunel University London is a world top 100 engineering university. (Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2014/5.) We are professionally accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE). Mechanical engineers deal with the design and production of the machines, systems and structures that are taken for granted in the modern world. The range and diversity of career choice is consequently tremendous. Our range of mechanical engineering courses is designed to meet the needs of industry and reflect our world'class research interests including: ' energy and environmental engineering ' internal combustion engines and their fuels ' materials and manufacturing. We're here to make sure you make the most of this wealth of engineering opportunity. Mechanical engineering with building services includes topics in which many of our research staff lead the field, for example the natural ventilation of deep'plan buildings and the application of solar energy in buildings. Modern businesses demand an increasingly high'quality environment in which to work. The design of heating, ventilation and air conditioning, lighting and security systems are becoming more complex, efficient and sophisticated to meet this demand. This course covers all the fundamental elements of mechanical engineering and design and provides background in subjects like electronics, electrical engineering, control, energy and environment.
