The course provides students with practical and theatrical experience of all aspects of theatre design from budgeting to performance; the student designer assists the professionals working on public productions in the LAMDA Linbury Studio and in venues across London; students also work alongside stage management and technical theatre students, following production work through from initial design concepts to build, technical rehearsals and opening night; students may also be given the opportunity to design sets and costumes for a summer repertoire in the LAMDA Linbury studio.
Course Additional Entry
Applicants must have completed a college or university course and been sufficiently involved in student theatre to indicate serious professional intent; or have adequate professional experience to meet the demands of the course; admission is by interview and practical work. The minimum entry age is 18 but, due to the experience necessary for this course, incoming students are usually aged 21 and over. There is no upper age limit. Applicants must be fluent English speakers.
