Course Introduction

This programme builds on typical undergraduate computing courses, developing new knowledge and skills in areas critical to the introduction and success of modern information systems for enterprises; it helps students gain a full understanding of how information systems are designed and constructed, and of the impact of technology and its integration into an organisation. The course also provides a route for people with other backgrounds and experience to engage with the world of information systems. It will also give you the skills you need to work effectively in a business'consulting environment, and provide a solid basis for research.

Course Modules

Modules include: Enterprise architecture; knowledge management; consultancy and technical innovation; information systems project management; UML component modelling; research methods; dissertation. Optional modules include: advanced rich media; data architecture; security management; HCI for information systems; mobile applications development.

Course Additional Entry

A degree (at least 2.2) in a computing subject, business or an engineering degree with a significant level of computing; applicants with equivalent professional qualifications, or a relevant Higher National Diploma may be considered, provided they can demonstrate significant, relevant work experience and the ability to benefit fully from the course; such applicants are considered on an individual basis by interview; some optional modules may not be available to students without a 1st degree in computing; applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5 or above, at a minimum of 5.5 for each of the 4 individual components, TOEFL internet'based test 90 or above, Pearson PTE Academic 58 or above, or an equivalent secure English language test.
