Students focus on either 3'7 year'olds (foundation stage or key stage 1) or 7'11 year'olds (key stage 1 or key stage 2), and undertake school experience within a specified age range.
2 modules are offered at either Higher or Master's level. These are general professional studies: a classroom'based research project with a pedagogic focus; curriculum studies: which has an integrated focus in which there are 5 options.
Course Additional Entry
Degree or higher in English, mathematics, science, art, design and technology, geography, history, music, physical education, child development, educational studies or early childhood education from a UK university; those who have studied these subjects as part of degree or have an A'level in 1 of these subjects in addition to a degree also considered; grade C GCSE in English language, science and mathematics or recognised equivalents; an enhanced disclosure certificate from the Government's Criminal Records Bureau (CRB); an occupational health questionnaire.
