Course Introduction

The emphasis in the Foundation course is on developing your study skills and ability in mathematics and mechanics. The course also suits mature applicants who need to update their technical knowledge and study skills.

Course Modules

Year 0: Mathematics; engineering principles; information technology; computing; electronics. Year 1: Civil engineering history; applied mechanics; materials; geology; surveying; design; build and test project; graphics; engineering science; mathematics; computing; communications laboratory. Year 2: Geotechnical engineering; hydraulics and hydrology; structural engineering; surveying; design project; mathematics; numerical computing methods; management studies; building engineering; public health engineering. Year 3: Geotechnical engineering; hydraulic engineering; structural engineering; major project; management studies; options.
