Course Introduction

This course offers practical and theoretical training in Patricia Crittenden's Dynamic Maturational Model (DMM) of attachment. This course offers practical and theoretical training in Patricia Crittenden's Dynamic Maturational Model (DMM) of attachment. You have the opportunity to learn a wide range of validated attachment assessments using procedures such as: the Infant CARE'Index, Strange Situation for Pre'School Children, Narrative Story Stems and the Adult Attachment Interview. The course will suit clinicians and practitioners from the majority of health and social care disciplines, as well as students interested in attachment research at masters or PhD level.

Course Additional Entry

Entry requirement for the programme is a minimum 2nd Class degree in an associated subject (e.g. psychology, social sciences), and/or, relevant professional qualification (e.g. clinical psychology, teaching, social work) together with a minimum of 3 years experience. In exceptional circumstances non traditional applicants with atypical educational histories may write an essay or complete another task set by the co'ordinator. Applicants from overseas for whom English is not their 1st language must comply with the University's minimum requirement for Master's degrees for proficiency in the English language. This is currently British Council IELTS at band 6.5 with no less than 6 in each band of the test.
