This degree has a broad focus and capitalises on London's vibrant multicultural dance scene. It is designed to assist students who may not have a classical or contemporary dance background, and covers 'urban', ethnic and popular dance styles as well as more conventional dance.
Year 1 technique and expression, cultural perspectives on british dance, explorations in british dance, making dance happen; year 2 beginning choreography, dance in the global city: critical and analytical perspectives, social dance, classical forms, contemporary dance, from street to stage physical and dance theatre; year 3 either: production project: dance or special study: physical text or special study: choreography and composition, continuing choreography dance on screen, dance and identity, dances of the african diaspora, access to dance.
