Course Introduction

This course examines the causes and solutions to a number of environmental issues. Students learn to evaluate the constraints and opportunities facing institutions.

Course Modules

MA: Applied research methods; disaster mitigation in the development context; dissertation masters; flood risk management; global environmental issues, policies and institutions; globalisation; integrated learning and work; law and governance; migration and citizenship; sustainable tourism management. MSc options: Global biodiversity management; research methods.

Course Additional Entry

Graduates should have a good Honours degree (2.2 or above) or an equivalent qualification, in an appropriate subject. Candidates with other relevant qualifications and individuals with a minimum of 3 years' work experience are welcomed. Those without formal qualifications need to demonstrate relevant work experience and the ability to study at postgraduate level. Applicants should have competence in English language and grade C GCSE or an equivalent qualification. IELTS 6.5 (with minimum 6.0 in all 4 components) or TOEFL internet based 87 (with at least 21 in listening and writing, 22 in speaking and 23 in reading).
