Course Introduction

This course equips students with the skills and knowledge to develop their careers in hospitality; it has been designed for those already in employment and is structured so that attendance is only required 1 day a week; the course has been developed with industry mentors and in accordance with the Institute of Hospitality (formerly the HCIMA) standards; it gives students the opportunity to develop the supervisory, managerial and technical skills necessary to operate successfully within the hospitality business environment.

Course Modules

Year 1: Personal development 1; food and beverage operations; rooms division; finance; customer service; managing people. Year 2: Personal development 2; operations management; human resources management; marketing; business planning; 1 optional module from: rooms management; restaurant management; diet and nutrition.
