Course Introduction

The course should provide workforce planners with the skills, competences and underpinning knowledge to be truly effective in their role and build their capability to work with the different employment and service commissioning systems in health and social care; advanced credits are linked to current issues of organisational and/or professional relevance; at Master's level students undertake an enquiry based project or a research methods module followed by a research dissertation.

Course Additional Entry

Applicants require a Postgraduate Certificate in strategic workforce planning; applicants must have had responsibility for inputting to workforce plans and/or must contribute to the workforce planning process in a health or social care organisation; applicants must work in role that involves some strategic level planning and/or decision making; applicants require a 1st degree normally at 2.2 or above, an NVQ level 5 or a professional qualification; applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 7.0 or above, at a minimum of 7.0 for each of the 4 individual components, TOEFL internet'based test 100 or above, Pearson PTE Academic 58 or above, or an equivalent secure English language test.
