Year 2: mathematical methods; scientific computing skills; quantum mechanics; optics; electromagnetism; atomic and nuclear physics; particle detectors and accelerators; classical and statistical thermodynamics; the solid state; astronomy. Year 3: experimental or theoretical project; particle physics; semiconductors and superconductor; modern topics of condensed matter; particle astrophysics. Year 4: major project; research review; statistical mechanics; particle accelerator physics; superfluids, condensates and superconductors; nuclear magnetic resonance; computing and statistical data analysis.
