Course Introduction

This course gives students an understanding of the latest software engineering technologies used to address today's challenges in software development; students become familiar with a broad range of current scholarship in software engineering, learning how to research and review published work; students also get a practical understanding of the issues relating to the design, analysis and implementation of modern software systems.

Course Modules

Modules include: advanced topics in software engineering; UML component modelling; data architecture; knowledge management; research methods; dissertation; learning and professional development; employability skills and employment. Optional modules include: distributed application development; project management; human'computer interaction for information systems; mobile application development; enterprise architecture; security management; advance rich media.

Course Additional Entry

A degree (at least 2.2) in a computing subject or an engineering degree with significant level of computing; applicants with equivalent professional qualifications, or a relevant Higher National Diploma plus relevant work experience are considered by interview; applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5 or above, at a minimum of 5.5 for each of the 4 individual components, TOEFL internet'based test 90 or above, Pearson PTE Academic 58 or above, or an equivalent secure English language test.
