Course Introduction

The course is aimed at students with a background in sport sciences who wish to take a broad'based degree that combines a range of self'selected modules from across the 2 specialist pathways: human performance and sport psychology.

Course Modules

Core modules include: physical activity and health; research methods and data analysis; dissertation. Optional modules include: biomechanics of sport and exercise; individual differences in sport and exercise; social processes in exercise and sport; applied sports physiology; performance lifestyle; laboratory techniques in physiology and biomechanics; research and application in the psychology of sports performance; psychological skills for practitioners; professional development; independent study.

Course Additional Entry

A UK upper 2nd Class (2.1) Honours degree or equivalent internationally recognised qualification in sports sciences or graduates who have completed a joint course with sport sciences or sports studies as one of their subjects. Other disciplines including medicine, medical science, veterinary medicine, veterinary science, physiotherapy or any biological science will also be considered providing they can show evidence of at least one year's experience of working in science or an area allied to medicine and or sport and will be considered on an individual basis. Applicants with a lower 2nd Class degree (2.2) in sports sciences or graduates who have completed a joint course with sport sciences or sports studies as one of their subjects providing they can show evidence of at least 1 year's experience of working in science or an area allied to medicine and or sport and will be considered on an individual basis. Applicants will be required to have an interview. NB: Hepatitis B immunisation will be required as students on this pathway will be involved in taking capillary blood samples.
