Based at the recently refurbished Harrow Campus ' home to the Westminster School of Media, Arts and Design ' you will work alongside students from film, photography, music, fashion and journalism, in a unique hothouse of creative opportunity. Our courses reflect the fast'changing opportunities in art, design and new media; our teaching programmes combine the development of professional'level studio practice with the acquisition of skills, knowledge and understanding. The Graphic Communication Design BA aims to provide you with a sound design methodology and range of creative, intellectual and technical skills, and enable you to identify, redefine and resolve communication design problems through highly developed critical and reflective judgement. All students complete work experience or live projects in the second year, and many also undertake a diverse range of professional experience at other stages of the course.
Modules include: Principles of visual design for communication; computer generated design; professional practice; perception and cognition; contextual studies; information and communication theory; visual representation; typographic design; production media; design for interaction and multimedia.
