The programme combines a range of academic study with practical school'based components to enable students to teach business studies across the 14'19 age range. It prepares students for a profession where innovative work with secondary pupils soon becomes part of teachers' daily lives, and where a range of people, from parents and local community members to other professionals from different agencies, work closely together with teachers and pupils. The course leads to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) on completion of skills tests.
School experience 1; school experience 2; specialism subject education (2 modules, including professional studies); school experience totalling 120 days.
Course Additional Entry
Degree (2.2 or above) in a relevant subject. GCSE in mathematics and English grade C or above. It is also recommended that students undertake at least 2 weeks work experience within a secondary business studies classroom before applying.
