In your first year you will study an Introduction to Management Enquiry module to help you adapt to university study through active learning sessions on topics such as working in groups, report writing and time management. The Business School offers one of the best final year project learning processes to help you to create high quality project work, often from work placement experiences. Good research skills are valued by employers and you will draw on these skills in work and life. If you take a sandwich course you will go on a paid work placement of 44 weeks at the end of your second year. Our placement team will help you find a post that develops your interests and builds on what you have learned. In addition to our BSc (Hons) Business and Management (Accounting) we also offer specialist pathways in the following areas giving you the chance to tailor your studies: BSc (Hons) Business and Management (Marketing), BSc (Hons) Business and Management or BSc (Hons) International Business.

Course Modules

Year 1: Indroduction to management enquiry; organisation behaviour and analysis; managing information with technology; introduction to accounting; principles and practices or marketing; internation business environment. Year 2: Management accounting ' decision making; introduction to business law; principles and practice of financial accounting; management accounting ' planning and control; quantitative methods in business and management; accounting information system. Year 3: Issues and controversies in accouting project: strategic financial management; auditing; work placement in context (for those who undertake a work placement). Optional modules: Taxation; strategic management; entrepreneurship and small business ventures; business ethics, environmental sustainability and goverance.
