Course Introduction

This course explores a range of 20th'century and 21st'century British, North American and post'colonial literature and will reflect on some of the historical, intellectual, cultural and technological changes of this era. Students will have the opportunity to study with scholars who have international reputations in their fields and develop advanced skills in literary study and research. There is also scope to work on individual authors, on various topics in literary and cultural theory, as well as a variety of literatures in English for the dissertation.

Course Modules

Modules include: Modernism, modernity and history; modernist special topics; contemporary literature; contemporary special topics; dissertation.

Course Additional Entry

A minimum of a 2.1 UK Honours degree in a relevant subject or overseas equivalent. Candidates with professional qualifications and work experience in an associated area will be considered. Applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5 with 7.0 in writing or TOEFL 570 (TWE 5.5) / 230 (TWE 5.5) / 88 (26).
