Course Introduction

The Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment at Westminster is one of the largest providers of built environment education in the country. You will study at our newly refurbished Marylebone Campus, where a '20m development has provided world'class facilities, including well'resourced construction laboratories, traditional and digital workshops, and a substantial 24'hour library. Westminster was rated in the top 10 universities for building courses in the Complete University Guide 2014, and our central London location provides direct access to professional institutions and practice; leading practitioners from industry are involved in the delivery of the course. Our teaching is informed by research, bringing the latest developments from the sector into the classroom and lecture theatre; 20 per cent of the Faculty's research was judged as 'World Leading' and a further 45 per cent as 'Internationally Excellent' in the Research Excellence Framework 2014.

Course Modules

Year 1: Building design 1; building science; construction technology 1; introduction to construction studies; procurement and project information; the construction environment. Year 2: Construction commercial management; construction site practice; construction technology 2; economics; law; materials and structures; professional practice and sustainability. Year 3: Construction law; construction technology 3; contract practice; dissertation; site production studies; supply chain management.
