Course Introduction

A theology degree programme in the heart of London that aims to foster informed reflection, both critical and constructive, on the three main dimensions of Christianity: scripture, doctrine, and the history of the Church.

Course Modules

Year 1 examples of modules: The new testament (gospels and letters); systematic theology (nature and method); turning points (an introduction to the history of Christianity in England, 1500'1900); environment and the old testament. Year 2 examples of modules: Paul in context or Jesus in context; ritual in the old testament; an introduction to the doctrine of the person of Christ or the trinity in recent theology; religion, culture and society in reformation Europe or issues in 19th'century British Christianity. Year 3 examples of modules: Principles of systematic theology; challenges of modernity in Christianity, Judaism and Islam; new testament texts and their impact; biblical law and ethics; women and the old testament.
