Course Modules

Year 1: the practice of literary criticism: 1; the practice of literary criticism: 2; literature in society: drama; understanding poetry; short story and prose. Plus one optional module from: writing for performance; writing the short film; writing poetry. Year 2: critical approaches to literature; tragedy to the English renaissance. Plus four optional modules from: literature of the romantic period; writing a life; writing the novel; radio drama; research into writing; interactive fiction; cultural memory; representing gender in film. Year 3: Shakespeare, text and performance; single author study: postcolonial writers. Plus four optional modules from: adaptation and dramatization; modern and contemporary poetry; media law and ethics; literature into film; single author study: contemporary fiction; literary magazine.
