The course is studio'based and practice'led. It offers numerous opportunities for developing and collaborating on pioneering work within the textile industry. Study is underpinned by a supportive theoretical framework, as well as instruction in professional contemporary practice. Students will focus and debate on environmental issues as well as the designer's role in acting responsibly to these. Students will participate in and develop skills through individual and group tutorials, workshops, online resources and postgraduate talks designed to introduce students to a range of visiting artists, designers and other practitioners.
Modules include: Analysis of practice and exploration of methodologies; development and consolidation; resolution; studio practice; advanced studio practice; theoretical studies.
Course Additional Entry
An Honours degree or equivalent academic qualifications, a study proposal and portfolio of work. Alternative qualifications and experience will also be taken into consideration. IELTS level 6.5 or above if English is not the student's 1st language, with at least 5.5 in reading, writing, listening and speaking.
