Course Introduction

This course has been designed to develop the knowledge and the skills of the participants in cost'effective management and regulation of the rapidly changing energy sector. City University London offers you exposure to a wide variety of subjects ranging from managing conventional energy production units to renewable technologies and from regulating policies relevant to low carbon emissions to risk management assessment. The subjects are covered from the perspective of both high level national and international policies and economics to energy supply markets as seen from the users' and suppliers' perspectives.

Course Modules

Modules include: Introduction to energy and environmental issues; energy policies and economic dimensions; the energy market from the purchaser's perspective; corporate energy management. Optional modules: energy, consumer goods and the home; transport energy and emissions; energy in industry and the built environment; emissions trading; renewable energy and sustainability; energy conversion technology.

Course Additional Entry

Applicants may have financial, management or technological backgrounds, but must be able to show potential to reach a senior position in the energy industry.
