Course Introduction

This course offers graduates from health and non'health related subjects the opportunity to gain professional registration as an Mental Health Nurse, recognising previous academic and career experience. Students on this course have the opportunity to take part in placements with NHS Trust partners.

Course Modules

Modules include: Knowledge for mental health nursing practice; practice learning 3; skills interventions for mental health nursing; working in partnership in healthcare, practice learning 4; practice learning 5; practice learning 6; preparation for professional mental health practice; working in partnership in healthcare; working with complexity in mental health.

Course Additional Entry

Candidates should possess a good Honours degree (2.2 or above) in a health related subject such as health studies, biology, psychology or sociology. Applications from graduates in other disciplines are welcomed. The university is unable to accept applications from qualified nurses. In according with the requirements of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), you will also need GCSE maths and english at grade C or above (or equivalent).
