Course Introduction

This course offers advanced training in computational methods, the underlying theory and physical principles, and appropriate experimental techniques for aeronautics and other sectors. This programme is suitable for applicants who wish to enhance their engineering training or to convert to an advanced engineering discipline from backgrounds in mathematics, physics or computer science.

Course Modules

Modules include: advanced flight mechanics; aeroservoelasticity; analysis of laminated composites; compressible flow; control theory; finite element methods; fundamentals of fluid mechanics; hydrodynamic stability; innovation management; introduction to flow control; linear algebra; Navier'Stokes equations and turbulence modelling; separated flows and fluid'structure interaction; structural dynamics.

Course Additional Entry

An Honours degree (2.1 or above), preferably in engineering; physics; mathematics or computer science.
