Course Introduction

This programme is aimed at all health and social care staff who are looking to develop their knowledge and skills as advanced practitioners.

Course Modules

Modules include: role development; becoming an advanced practitioner; advanced skills for advanced clinical assessment; independent and supplementary prescribing; advanced management of diabetes; advanced wound care; advanced respiratory care; advanced cardiac care; sexual health; infection control; public health; health and social care (strategic choices managing quality); managing relationships; research methods; dissertation.

Course Additional Entry

1st degree (or equivalent professional qualification) in a health or social care related subject (for example a nursing/physiotherapy/social work degree); working as a health and social care professional (usually at least 2 years full'time or equivalent), with a significant professional experience for advancing practice; applicants whose 1st language is not English require either IELTS 6.5 or above including a minimum 5.5 for each of the 4 individual components.
