Course Introduction

This course relates to the mechanical systems that perform relatively fast and precise motions and therefore require sophisticated electronic devices and control algorithms. This hands'on course will help you develop the multidisciplinary knowledge that the fast'moving industrial, commercial and domestic sectors demand of their technical professionals.

Course Modules

Modules include: Control systems; digital imaging; embedded systems; mechatronics and automation; mechanical motion and control; individual project. Options include: advanced control; advanced robotics; integrated CAD/CAM systems; pattern recognition and neural networks; sensors and actuators; software pathway options include: advanced CAD/CAM systems; component based software engineering; computer aided product design; digital signal processing; object oriented solutions. Systems and management pathway options include: finance resource management; industrial project management; industrial systems and management; legal obligations; total quality.

Course Additional Entry

An Honours degree or equivalent in a relevant area such as: computer science, electronics, engineering, mathematics, physics or information technology; or substantial working experience in either the computing, electronics or embedded systems areas may be considered in lieu of a degree; international students must have an IELTS score of 6.5 with 6.0 in writing and 5.5 in reading, listening and speaking.
