Course Introduction

This course is designed to meet the changing needs of the routine cellular pathology department. Students acquire a deeper understanding of laboratory diagnostic practice, and are introduced advances in cellular pathology. The use of immunocytochemistry and molecular biological techniques in diagnostics are components of the course.

Course Modules

Core modules: cellular pathology 1; cellular pathology 2; current topics in cellular pathology; molecular science and genetics; critical review and design study; project b: project and report; cytopathology; immunopathology; vocational and experiential learning in biomedical sciences.

Course Additional Entry

Applicants should have 1 years laboratory experience. Candidates should also have a BSc Honours degree in a relevant subject, or an IBMS fellowship or primary examination of the IBMS, or postgraduate certificate in biomedical science, or relevant experience or qualifications. Students whose 1st language is not English should have an IELTS score of 6.5, with the written component at a minimum of 6.5 (or equivalent).
